Room Transfers

Students interested in transferring to another room have the option to do so:

  • At the end of September during the Fall Semester
  • At the end of February during the Spring Semester

Students will receive an email to their NMSU email address informing them when the transfer process is open. The transfer process is a “first come, first served” basis. Interested students should follow directions provided in the email. Students who fail to abide by the directions in the email may be moved to the end of the list.

Permitting that the requested new space is available, Housing & Residential Life will be inform the student of their new assignment.  Once a student is approved they must come to the main housing office to pick up appropriate transfer paperwork prior to moving to their new assignment.  Students will have 48 hours following the approved transfer request to move to their new space.
